Blue Support Services helping our local community

Recently one of our Blue Support Engineers, Wes Marland delivered sensory room donations to Outwood Primary School in Heald Green, Stockport. The school have recently refurbished their sensory room but due to the costly refurbishment it came to light that they were unable to purchase some of the much-needed sensory equipment.

When our Managing Director of Infrastructure became aware of this he wanted to get involved and support our local community, he did this by getting in contact with the Deputy Head Teacher of the school to find out what sensory equipment they needed to complete the room to ensure it would have a positive impact on the children’s development.

Since we delivered the sensory room donations, we have also donated £150 worth of books to the primary school which have now arrived safely.

Angela Clayton, Deputy Head Teacher, Inclusion Manager and SENCO at Outwood Primary School said: “Big thank you to Blue Support Services who are supporting our vision and aims to nurture and develop our children so they can aspire to be the best version of themselves. The sensory room and book donations will make a big difference to all the children here at Outwood Primary School.”

Councillor Anna Charles-Jones, Ward Councillor for Heald Green said: “As a Governor and Local Ward Councillor it’s fantastic to see a local company supporting a local school, for the benefit of the wider local community.”

Sensory rooms provide a safe and supportive space for neurodivergent and disabled students to escape the potentially overwhelming environment of a busy classroom. This encourages those students to succeed socially and academically and can provide them with tools and coping skills to learn more effectively.
