Completed variation works on Jordanthorpe Health centre
April 1, 2020
We have now completed works on one of Sheffield’s flagship health centres that has been remodelled to accommodate another GP practice.
On Tuesday 24th March 2020 the team delivered a refit of Jordanthorpe Health Centre which started in January 2020, creating twelve new high-spec consulting rooms. The works were completed on behalf of the building owner, Community 1st Sheffield and Lead tenant, Community Health Partnerships. The team completed the works two weeks ahead of schedule, on budget, and to a fantastic standard. It is great to see continued hard work and commitment of our fantastic team to get these variation works completed during these uncertain times that we are all going through at the moment.
Impressively, the extensive works took place while the Health Centre was open and delivering services to existing patients. That this project was delivered with minimal disruption to the day-to-day operation of the building is a testament to excellent project management, supportive tenant liaison and the professionalism of individuals from all trades who worked together so effectively.
The remodelling works have created extra capacity at Jordanthorpe Health Centre, allowing nurses and four additional GPs to start delivering their services from as early as this week.
Local patients who had previously been accessing primary care services from substandard buildings will now be able to access those services from the modern fit-for-purpose facilities at Jordanthorpe Health Centre.
Jon Keegan, Community 1st Sheffield General Manager said: “This project shows our skilled supply chain at its best, collaborating to deliver a full turnkey works team. From end user engagement, architectural design through to construction and ongoing property and facilities management, everyone working on this project contributed to its success.”
Jason Keenan, Director of Walker Technical said “Workmanship is spot on, so credit to all those involved”.
Blue Support Services provide a full facilities management support service to of seven primary care centres across the city. In addition, Community 1st Sheffield have also undertaken a considerable amount of minor works and property adaptations to reflect the changing demands of primary care services across Sheffield.
