Jordanthorpe Health Centre – Capital works to support changes to local provision.
February 19, 2020
One of Sheffield’s flagship health centres is being remodelled to accommodate another GP practice.
Work is currently being undertaken due to high demand in increasing patient numbers to create extra capacity at Jordanthorpe Health Centre. This is to enable Meadowgreen surgery and their patients to relocate from their current location on School Lane and Low Edges Road.
The exciting project will add twelve new high specification consulting rooms to Jordanthorpe Health Centre, providing patients of both surgeries with modern, fit-for-purpose facilities.
Blue Support Services are scheduled to complete the works by the end of March 2020, on behalf of the building owner, Community 1st Sheffield and Lead tenant Community Health Partnerships.
Nathan Jenkinson, Project Manager said: “BSSL are undertaking the remodelling works of Jordanthorpe Health Centre. BSSL are working closely with Community 1st and the tenants to ensure we achieve the highest possible standard of finish and provide excellent new facilities to accommodate the incoming practice, whilst also ensuring there is no impact to the existing vital services being provided from the centre”
The building continues to provide the existing high levels of services to registered patients from the Clover Group Practice and Community Dental Clinic as they remain in operation during the works. The construction and property management teams are working hard to minimise any disruption to the day-to-day running of the building.
Blue Support Services provide a full facilities management support service to of seven primary care centres across the city. In addition, Community 1st Sheffield have also undertaken a considerable amount of minor works and property adaptations to reflect the changing demands of primary care services across Sheffield.
